Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays
is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current recently finished and new favorite read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My Teaser:

I still have a big Will Grayson, Will Grayson hangover and I would like to dedicate a Teaser Tuesday to them.  This week, I will ignore rule number one above, just for this week, I promise!

  3. Hi Nina,

I'm not sure whether this is really my kind of book or not, but I am prepared to give anything a try, so if I come across it on my travels around the charity shops, I will definitely pick it up.

I loved your take on the storyline, it made me smile on a dark and dreary UK day.

    Happy New Year

    Yvonne

  6. Interesting teaser! I haven't ever read anything by Levithan. This book is in my HS media center. I'll have to try it one day. I have two teasers this week. My YA teaser is from Anna and the French Kiss and my adult teaser is from The Secret History of the Pink Carnation. I guess I was in a mood for romance. Happy reading!

  11. Here is my teaser from Nature's Secret Messages: Hidden in Plain Sight by Elaine Wilkes (Page 3):

"We lie in the lap of immense intelligence." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Stop. Look. Listen. My kindergarten teacher taught me that. I remember carefully lining up the tips of my patent-leather shoes exactly at the edge of the curb and stopping–then carefully looking to my right and left, quiet and aware, listening for any clues. Feeling that it was safe to proceed, I'd grasp my classmate's hand, jump off the curb, and happily venture into unknown territories on the other side of the street.

Now I barely glance from side to side as I hurry on my way.

What happened? Where did that wide-open feeling of awareness go? In the rush of adulthood, it seems to vanish, but what would happen if we simply stopped, looked and listened…even as busy adults?

As a learning addict, I've hunted for insights through countless books, seminars, experts, masters and more. Eventually, I realized that my kindergarten teacher had it right from the beginning, long before I started my quest. Who knew that she was so profound?

  13. *smirk* I really like that tease. We with our high tech cell phones and we can't remember a number. I remember when I had every person in High School's number memorized. Now I can barely tell you more then 2 numbers. My own and 911!

    LOL!

I just have to tell you, ARGH feeds on awesomeness, so if you can, drop him some awesome here, and I promise to give some awesome back :D

Right now, because of my really busy schedule, I'm cutting back on receiving awards. So until further notice, me and ARGH would not be accepting awards. But thank you for thinking of us, we really appreciate it!
