Shelf Saturday Featuring Thinking Cat @ Cat's Thoughts

We all love our books, and we want them to have the best shelves ever. Also, this is a new way to sort of show off your book collection, along with your funky shelves.

ARGH thought fitting himself in the bookshelf will help him sleep.

For this new edition of Shelf Saturday, let me feature the book case of this blogger friend of mine, Thinking Cat @Cat's Thoughts:

create your own banner at!I have been a reader all my life - my mother swears that she read to me before I was even born, and honestly, I believe it.  I have boxes and boxes of books that I've just never been able to let go of, and sadly I don't have infinite display space in my house to have them all out, so my shelves only hold my recent/grown up books.

When my husband and I first started living together, it was in a really small one bedroom apartment, and there was no space for bookshelves - we had a lot of stuff between the two of us!  When we moved into our house, I'm not kidding, the only furniture we needed to buy was bookshelves!

My favorite thing about my shelves is that they can be customized however I want them!  They're from IKEA and the style has been around forever, and they have a ton of fun add-ons so you can do whatever you want!

On the shelf in the middle, I have a door for example, which is an awesome place to hide my clutter.

Oh, and as you can see, there's a very complicated organization system (ie - chaotic) in place - but that pile on the floor in the front is my "read soonest" pile - either because they're borrowed from the library or friends, or they're recent purchases that I don't want to get lost in the shuffle until I finish reading them.

All in all, my shelves are my little corner of organized chaos - I can find anything I want within seconds, but most people look at it and just go "HUH???"

Thanks for including me!

I totally get what you're talking about when you said that your shelves are your little corner of organized chaos, Cat!  It's that way with mine too - and it's a small shelf at that, other people would get confused in finding a particular book, but I can get it even with my eyes closed.

Again, my jaw dropped when I saw the number of books in your collection, I can see some very familiar titles, and can also spot some that I have been coveting since day one.  Oh drool, drool!

And I wonder what magic - or mayhem lie behind that mysterious shelf door.  I thought of hundreds of possible stories for that door of yours, it's total writing gold!

Thank you so much for sharing your shelves, Cat!

Think this is a great idea?  Want to have your shelves featured?  Then fill out this form and ARGH and I will email you for details on how to be a movie star - er, how to be featured on Shelf Saturday :D

  1. I love my shelves! :-) Thanks for including me in your awesome feature!

  2. I want shelves like that, wish I had the space. As much as I love my shelves, they are small compared to these.

I will admit I did go OH! at one of the pictures, my slightly OCD brain wants to tidy it, squeeze even more onto each shelf - but if it works for you that's great. :D

Still loving the feature. Don't get stuck in that shelf ARGH! :D

  3. I'm in awe at that chaotic epic mess of awesomeness that is your bookshelf Cat. :D

Nina and ARGH, still loving this feature, too!

    Kelsa P.

I just have to tell you, ARGH feeds on awesomeness, so if you can, drop him some awesome here, and I promise to give some awesome back :D

Right now, because of my really busy schedule, I'm cutting back on receiving awards. So until further notice, me and ARGH would not be accepting awards. But thank you for thinking of us, we really appreciate it!
